A Personal Invitation from Tanis

The courses within the School of Sankalpa were created across different periods of my own study, practice, teaching, and inquiry.

Some emerged through more than twenty years devoted to Yoga Nidra and the maps of consciousness found within its traditions.

Others grew from questions that became increasingly central to my own life: identity, desire, perception, recognition, and how something known inwardly begins to shape the way we live.

I think of these courses as maps.

Each offers a particular way of entering experience. Each arose from a body of inquiry I explored deeply. And each can be engaged on its own terms, with curiosity and discernment.

You do not need to adopt every philosophical framework within a course as your own.

You are invited to study the map, enter the practices, pay attention to your experience, and discover what the inquiry opens for you.

Awakening From Our Sleep

Yoga Nidra Training & Immersion

A comprehensive foundation in the practice, philosophy, and art of guiding Yoga Nidra.

This course represents the foundational body of my Yoga Nidra teaching.

It emerged through years of study, direct experience, teaching, and refinement, bringing together the practical architecture of Yoga Nidra with the philosophical and spiritual traditions that informed my understanding of the practice.

Whether you are exploring Yoga Nidra for your own practice or want to learn how to guide others, the training offers a detailed journey through its foundations.

Recorded live over five days, the course includes:

  • 15 in-depth lectures

  • 12 full-length Yoga Nidra practices

  • 2 meditations

  • 2 comprehensive manuals

  • Additional notes and resources for continued study

What You'll Explore

The origins, philosophy, and traditional frameworks of Yoga Nidra.

The practical architecture of creating and guiding a Yoga Nidra practice.

Language, pacing, presence, and the role of the guide.

The Koshas and the understanding of Self found within the traditions that informed my work.

States of consciousness and the brainwave frameworks commonly associated with Yoga Nidra.

The role of Sankalpa within the practice.

Ways of developing your own relationship with Yoga Nidra through direct experience.

This course teaches Yoga Nidra through the maps and traditions that shaped my work over two decades. You are invited to explore those maps deeply while paying attention to your own experience and discernment.

The Inward Path: A 7-Week In-depth Exploration

A 7-Week Exploration of the Inner Architecture of Yoga Nidra

The Inward Path was created for those wanting to move more deeply into the individual stages and inner terrain of Yoga Nidra.

Recorded over seven weeks, the course slows the practice down. Each week explores one aspect of the Yoga Nidra journey through teaching, contemplation, and direct experience, allowing greater attention to the transitions that can easily be passed over when the practice is experienced only as a complete sequence.

The Koshas provide one of the primary maps for this exploration. Rather than moving quickly through them as stages within a practice, we spend time with each one—exploring how it has been understood within the traditions that informed my work and what becomes available when we investigate it through direct experience.

This course invites you to:

  • Refine your understanding of the individual stages of Yoga Nidra and the relationships between them

  • Explore the Koshas as a traditional map of different dimensions of human experience

  • Become more sensitive to the subtle transitions that occur as attention moves inward

  • Investigate the relationship between conceptual understanding and direct experience

  • Deepen your awareness of language, pacing, attention, and the inner movement of a Yoga Nidra practice

There is a spaciousness to this course that allows each layer to be encountered slowly.

Rather than moving toward a predetermined experience, you are invited to enter the map, explore what it points toward, and notice what you encounter for yourself.

This course explores Yoga Nidra through the Koshas and the understanding of Self found within the traditions that informed my work.

“You have teachers... and you have embodied teachers.

For me personally, Tanis is an embodied teacher.

I can feel it in the vibrations of her words and in her silence, that she has walked the path she is teaching, and she is guiding us to walk it in our own authentic ways.
Tanis answers every question from the core of her Being, from deeply integrated ancient wisdom and yet new in each moment when she shares it.

Even the replays and recordings, hold this same vibrational presence that goes beyond time and space.

I have followed Tanis’s Yoga Nidras since my husband introduced me to them in 2021. It’s like the gift of peace I had been longing for all my life. Like a true homecoming.

Since then I have followed Tanis’s course “The inward path” live online as well as her self-paced online courses.

These are treasures I hold in my heart, that I can keep coming back to, as the teachings are infinite.

Especially in these times of mass distraction, Tanis’s teachings are the key to staying sane ;) and aligned with the path of love, peace and freedom”.

Love and gratitude

————————-
I cannot speak highly enough of my experience training with the School of Sankalpa. The wisdom, guidance and kindness of Tanis provided the perfect container for growing as a teacher and practitioner of Yoga Nidra. I’ve come away from this training feeling embodied and expanded, and am so thankful I made the choice to explore the practice of Yoga Nidra with the SOS. All love and gratitude. - Danielle
